the birth anniversary of my luv

if it wasn't enough that the poor guy will become a father, graduated from college, and started his first real live career this year, joey's true leap into adulthood happened today as the sun rose and declared this the day of his 30th birthday. we ate at a fancy deeply-in-need-of-renovation/health-code-inspection crab house establishment to celebrate and kicked ourselves all the way home for walking away 62 dollars poorer for only one grilled cod sandwich and one soft shell crab meal, both of which maybe, MAYbe could have been featured on the luxury menu of the long john silver's. i'll say it again, this east coast living is not for the faint of pocket book! to be fair, though, the real reason the bill hit such staggering heights had more to do with the restaurant's location within the tourist-ridden old town, and less to do with its proximity to the atlantic. regardless, the meal was certainly edible, and after an exhausting week we both relished in the luxury of being waited on at dinner. i will tell you however my appetite waned considerably as our likable but honest waiter declared casually that I was having a girl because instead of a small, smooth belly (like the mamas of boy fetuses) mine was more of the large and bumpy variety. thank you kind sir, you're lucky my husband was in charge of the tip!

for the rest of the weekend, joey has requested the gift of zero plans and lots of football. it is my absolute pleasure to oblige, this week was a drain on my energy reserves and of course there's still plenty to do in preparation for all of the middle school mind molding that next week promises. Have a good one!
