breath of life

this weekend we've had the pleasure of entertaining this cutie, coughs and all.

the poor girl has a cold that won't quit, but through the stuffy nose and hoarse voice she's been a welcomed shot of life in our still-pretty-empty home. and although she'd clearly prefer to hang out with grandma for the weekend without having to deal with her needy aunt and uncle, every now and then she lets us get close enough to read a story or two with her.

or paint her nails and do her hair... and take very quick photos in the kitchen (in front of the dishwasher of course!) to show off our new pumpkin.

last night we took kenley and my mom into old town alexandria for a walk along the potomac river and dinner. kenley found herself some geese who loved her so much they followed her along the walking path...

until she lost interest and found a tree with roots that were far more fascinating :)

tonight is our last night together. we'll be pretty sad when they leave us again. so we're back to our christmas count down, when we get to bring our own babes home to see the whole family. we can't wait!

thanks for the visit guys! come again soon!
