today, my not so little boy turned two months old. i want to say it feels like just yesterday we finally got to meet this handsome bundle of gooshy sweetness, but the truth is it feels like he's been here much longer. this morning he woke up to nurse and took breaks now and then to look up at me with his big, very blue eyes and smile as wide as the ocean. how did life happen before he was here?
once huck finishes eating in the mornings, we mosey to his nursery for a new diaper and change of clothes. most mornings h arches his back in cat-like stretches, reaches his legs and arms to the ceiling, and morphs his pillow lips into variations of kissy faces until his little body is ready to welcome the new day. lots of big boy stretching for a little body growing so so so fast! this morning, between arm reaches, henry peed on his mother not once but twice, spit up a quarter of his morning meal, and had a sneeze fit that shot mucus down his chin. so we giggled together as we mutually agreed on a morning bath to start the day.
currently, henry has cozied himself into his bed for a self-induced nap, which has neverevereverhappened before! we take this two month birthday pretty seriously around here ;) tomorrow, i predict, i will stumble upon a walking huckleberry with college applications splayed about his crib. tune in for the flashy details...
